Regional Advocacy Campaign (RAC) “Health can be bought. Price is included in budget!”

To ensure the regional ownership, grasp the regional perspective and start Regional Advocacy Strategy (ссылка на стратегию) implementation, in April 2013 ECUO launched the Regional Advocacy Campaign (RAC) “Health can be bought. Price is included in budget!”.

It was aimed at increased public financing for high-quality ARV medicines procurement and its effective use. Campaign runs in seven EE countries under one slogan, one branding and one complex of key messages:

There are drugs – There is no time!

Treat today – Save tomorrow!

HIV is not transmitted when treated!

Treatment is our right – your obligation is to treat!

Azerbaijan and Georgia launched the Campaign in April 2013; Armenia, Belarus, Moldova and Russia – in May, as part of the World AIDS Candlelight Memorial day (May 19th, 2013) events. Ukraine officially launched the Campaign in October 2013.

The RAC “Health can be Bought. The Price is in the Budget” has got a wide still ongoing resonance among different stakeholders in EECA region and worldwide recognized. Its interim achievements were presented at the AIDS 2014 Conference in Melbourne. At the present EHRN and ECOM have recently joined its further realization.
