For the second year in a row AGIHAS has been organizing a charitable concert and a ceremony of the Kindness (Glāsts) Award for the outstanding contribution in countering HIV/AIDS epidemic in Latvia.
«This thin line between the positive and the negative» is the slogan of the charitable concert this year. The event will be held in St. Saviour’s Anglican Church in Riga. All the guests are invited to make a charitable donation which will be used to support women living with HIV and their children.
AGIHAS organization is the founder of the Kindness (Glāsts) award and the key award fund contributor.
The event will be broadcasted live on TV-24. The concert record will later be posted on the YouTube channel and the Facebook page of AGIHAS. More information: http://agihas.lv/labdaribas-koncerts-2/
Last year a charitable concert in Riga was held under the slogan “The history of 30 years of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Latvia”.
“In 2016, the event attracted prominent musicians of our country in the venue of the Anglican Church. The staff of the second outpatient department of the Latvian Infectious Diseases Center hospital and its Director, Dr. INGA JANUŠKEVIČA., were the first to receive the award The history of HIV/AIDS in Latvia shows that the first three decades of the epidemic in the country were full of pain, despair, disappointment and hopes. Someone had to make a start to spur a change. We believe that we managed to lay the foundations for a new story – more open and humane. We expect an even greater interest in the event this year”,
says Andris Veikenieks, the head of AGIHAS and a representative of ECUO PLWH in Latvia.
