The delegation of the East Europe and Central Asia Union of People Living with HIV (ECUO PLWH) took part in an open regional consultation on a new grant from the Global Fund, which was held in Minsk on November 13-14, 2017.
The representatives of key community networks in the EECA region discussed the draft terms of reference for a new round of the Global Fund financing for Regional Applications from the East Europe and Central Asia countries in 2018-2021 during the event.
Discussions in Minsk focused on the following 4 activity areas that are necessary to ensure the sustainability of HIV-related services for key populations in East Europe and Central Asia, namely:
- sustainable funding of HIV-related services for key affected populations;
- sustainable access to affordable and quality-assured ARVs and other goods used to counter HIV;
- reduction of stigma and discrimination against KAP representatives;
- improving the efficiency of HIV services delivery models for KAPs.
Now ECUO PLWH is establishing a working group for joint priority setting and invites partners to cooperate on the proposal for a new round of funding from the Global Fund.
We welcome interaction with all regional organizations and representatives of PLWH communities in the EECA region who are interested in providing universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care, support for all who need it in our countries.
